Thank you, Lord, for the gift of cooler weather!!

Here in Houston it is the first cool day of the fall. My northern friends would laugh at the sweaters and boots we wear in 60* high temperatures here in Houston.

Last weekend was the first woman’s retreat of the year. There was much laughter and joy in the halls here at Holy Name Passionist Retreat Center. This week as we prepare for the first men’s retreat its back to work. Heads down and stern faces…no, no, no! We are still laughing here at HNPRC. The staff is full of joy and teasing spirit.

Next week is an exciting event here at Holy Name, our annual Prayer Breakfast. If you haven’t had a chance to get a ticket there are still a few seats available Wednesday, October 24th. Our Speaker will be Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States.

Yes, the Pope’s representative to the United States will be here at Holy Name!

It feels like a new day, perhaps a new season, a new fall season, a new retreat season a new exciting speaker at our prayer breakfast.  It is a time of renewal and joy! I hope and pray that you join us this year, whether it be for the prayer breakfast, a Catholic men’s or woman’s retreat, one of our Hispanic programs, a 12-step meeting or just a day of reflection. Come and see what the Lord has planned to renew You!
